Between 15-17 January all 33 partners of the project met in Lisbon to kick-off the project called Fostering DIHs for Embedding Interoperability in Cyber-Physical Systems of European SMEs.

The goal of the meeting hosted by UNINOVA was to have a place for introduction, discussion and planning. Partners introduced their company, the experiment they are participating in, and all work package was discussed during the three days of the meeting.

The initiative of DIH4CPS will help European enterprises overcome innovation hurdles and establish Europe as a world leading innovator of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. DIH4CPS will create an embracing, interdisciplinary network of DIHs and solution providers, focused on cyber-physical and embedded systems, interweaving knowledge and technologies from different domains, and connecting regional clusters with the pan-European expert pool of DIHs.

At the first day of the meeting UNINOVA welcomed the participants and the introduction of the partners began. In the first wave, 13 DIH will help the work of the experiments and support the project management by taking part in almost all work packages. The second day was dedicated to discuss the work packages, each WP leader presented the main tasks and responsibilities and a separate timeslot was dedicated for the experiments to introduce their cooperation, ideas, business model and how they plan the work for the next months. dih4cps.eu website has been launched officially together with the social media channels, which will be used for the continuous communication of the results, open calls, events and public information.

At the third day of the meeting the partners participated in a workshop where they identified the value proposition of DIH4CPS and created business model canvases for the different segments. Partners had an overview about the work packages, interdependencies and deliverables, to know how will they cooperate during the 3 years of the project.

The kick-off meeting and the social events created space for introduction, planning, cooperation, and what is most important: to have a solid basis for the next years of work. Thank you to all partners for attending and for the active participation, we are looking forward to the success stories!
